Fortune Food launches Sobe organic soymilk
25 November 2011
Sobe, the pioneer of Singapore’s first pasteurised, fresh soya milk, launches its sub-brand, Sobe Organic, with two organic soymilk products created for the increasingly sophisticated, health-conscious Singaporean.
Made in the USA using 100% organic, non-genetically modified soy beans, Sobe Organic comes in 2 versions: Regular, a lightly sweetened, refreshing soymilk, and Unsweetened.
Both products are certified organic, having been produced under the strict standards set by the US Department of Agriculture’s National Organic Program (NOP).
The NOP is a standardised framework of organic production practices and is the final authority for organic products in the USA. A host of stringent requirements ensure that organic growers use farming practices that are as natural to the environment as possible, resulting in natural, healthier and safer products. For example, the land upon which the crop is grown has to be free of petroleum based fertilisers and pesticides for three years before an organic crop can be planted. Also, everything from fertilisers, seeds and products used to control diseases and insects must be natural. Water used for irrigation of organic crops has to be tested and approved, and seeds used to plant the crops are certified organic seeds. Genetically modified seeds are strictly not allowed. Organic production operations are inspected annually before certification is given.
It is available at all leading supermarkets, hypermarts, selected minimarts and organic specialty stores.
